Most companies like Tristar like to make a large profit off of signings. I don't know if the person organizing this is trying to do that, but most players don't charge as much for private signings as they do at shows. Just some examples in the Philadelphia area....Lesean McCoy charges anywhere from $30-$40 at shows, and did a PS for $25. Shane Victorino was $60 at a recent MAB show, and did a PS for $40. Brent Celek charges $30 per auto, and is doing a PS for $18.

This isn't just a private signing....it's actually going to be an event open to the public where I'm offering a discount to those ordering through here because I can get it done in the back before the public portion of the signing starts, essentially getting it done with our wholesale items.

The more "wholesale" I can sell, the more secure I am promoting an event knowing I don't have to sell as many to the general public to meet the players minimums. What you're saying is sometimes right...every player is different though. SOME offer better prices for specically private signings because they can knock out far more wholesale in an hour than they can to the public, usually double due to the time consumed by public interaction, moving the line along, etc. Given the fact that many of these players have minimums well into the 5 figure range or 400-500 ipiece minimums, for you as a collector to only have to pay a few bucks more than the guy taking on all the risk is a pretty fair deal is you ask me.

I hope that doesn't come off as rude because it certainly isn't meant that way but I just wanted to clear a few things up for those unsure of how these things work.
