The NH Fishercats and the Lowell Spinners already had minor league hot stove dinners on the same night in December.

The Seadogs dinner is coming up later this month; with nobody worth attending for....

Perdue Stadium, Your Delmarva Shorebirds are heating things up for their fans for this year’s Annual Hot Stove Banquet. This exclusive social gathering is for you, the valued fan. Your 5th Annual Hot Stove Banquet will begin the team’s countdown to spring training and their first home game of the 2006 season - Monday night, April 10th. This Hot Stove Banquet will be held on February 2, 2006 at 6 p.m. inside the beautiful Shorebirds Executive Club, over-looking the baseball diamond.

Headlining the guest list will be Baltimore Orioles Play-by-Play Broadcaster, FRED MANFRA, who will give the fans a preview of the upcoming Orioles Season, a behind the scenes look to his career with The Baltimore Orioles and the professional sports world.

Also, two current professional players and members of Your Shorebirds Exclusive All-Decade Team are expected to attend this special event. The overall fan-favorite, former ‘Bird, recently acquired by the Chicago Cubs Triple-A Team, GARY CATES and another past Shorebird, heavy hitter, better known as “the guy that replaced Cal†that infamous night in Camden Yards, former Baltimore Oriole, RYAN MINOR. Plus, we are very lucky to have two Championship Coaches in our presence on this evening, former skipper, BOBBY RODRIGUEZ and previous pitching coach, DAVE SCHULER. Both of these gentlemen coached for three years and were influential in leading the team in 2000 towards their second South Atlantic League Championship!

So, this is your chance to catch these five outstanding stars, MANFRA, CATES, MINOR, RODRIGUEZ, and SCHULER all under this one event, as they will hold a fun fan-interactive Q&A forum following dinner.

Charleston Riverdogs

Jim Bouton, the former New York Yankees pitcher and famed author of "Ball Four," will be the featured speaker at the 2nd Annual Hot Stove Banquet & Silent Auction on January 27 at the Holliday Alumni Center on The Citadel campus.

The Hot Stove Banquet is an annual collaboration between the Charleston RiverDogs and The Citadel Brigadier Foundation to whet the appetite of Charleston area baseball fans. In addition to the banquet, a silent auction will be held with proceeds going to The Citadel Brigadier Foundation for athletics scholarships and to MUSC's Storm Eye Institute, the RiverDogs' primary charity.

Also in attendance will be former Citadel standouts and current professional players.

Just in case anyone was planning to go to the cheifs hot stove dinner Orlando Hudson has cancelled as he is now with the Diamondbacks. Cheifs mvp John Ford Griffith and Tigers pitcher Jason Grilli have been added.
