After being selected in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, JJ Wetherholt wasted little time proving why the organization made him a priority. Transitioning seamlessly into professional baseball, Wetherholt showcased the same advanced approach that defined his college career—elite contact skills, disciplined at-bats, and a calm, professional presence at the plate. From day one in the Cardinals’ system, he looked comfortable against pro-level pitching, consistently putting together quality plate appearances and showing an ability to adjust quickly.
Beyond the box score, Wetherholt’s impact has been felt in all facets of the game. His defensive versatility and instincts have allowed him to move confidently around the infield, while his speed and baseball IQ continue to add value on the bases. Cardinals player development staff have praised his work ethic and maturity, traits that have helped accelerate his progression through the system. We expect JJ to make the Cardinals Opening Day Roster at which time pricing will bump up a bit. This most likely will be your last chance to see his MiLB pricing. After being St Louis' Minor League Player of the Year and Vegas already predicting Wetherholt as the front running for NL ROY, stock up now while you can.
