Reunited: The Astros will be holding the second annual Astros Alumni Golf Classic presented by Hewlett-Packard on Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the Wildcat Golf Club. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Astros in Action Foundation. For more information on the Astros Alumni Golf Classic, fans can log-on to www.astros.com or call (713) 259-8980.
The day begins with registration and breakfast at 7:30 a.m., a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., and an awards ceremony and lunch following play. Each foursome will have an Astros VIP golfing with them that may include a former or current player, an Astros broadcaster, or an Astros front office staff member. There will also be an opportunity to meet other Astros VIPs in attendance.
Former and current Astros scheduled to attend the event include Garner, Mike Scott, Kevin Bass, Larry Dierker, Billy Hatcher, Jim Deshaies, Terry Puhl, Bob Knepper, Dickie Thon, Frank DiPino, Bill Brown, Dave Raymond, and Brett Dolan. Updates and additions to the list of scheduled participants can be found on astros.com.
Entry into the Astros Alumni Golf Classic begins at $250 per person ($1,000 per foursome) and includes a playing spot in the tournament, a player appreciation package, and an Astros VIP on your team. In addition, there are six different sponsorship levels available ranging from Hole Sponsorships for $500 up to a Home Run sponsorship.
