Anyone have luck with 86 Mets or 04 Red Sox

Just seeing if anyone has had luck with these teams... obviously I can assume Manny, Pedro, Ortiz, sign as many as you send for no fee and return within a few days, but just wondering about guys like Bellhorn, Rafael Santana, Curtis Leskanic, Bill Mueller, Sid Fernandez, etc... basically the non-obvious guys... LMK any help appreciated. I have not sent a TTM auto in about 20 years (since I was 10).

Thanks

John

Read about Gary Carter. $25 donation to a church. My favorite all-time player... and I'm an atheist... I'm conflicted.

Would he accept a donation to another charity? Has anyone ever heard of/done that?

I don't think any of those guys do TTM, much less anything you send.

Sorry, thought my sarcasm font was activated.

I was looking to spare responses about those players from posters who wouldn't assume I know they are impossible TTM/IP.

Sorry for the confusion.

Gary Carters donation is not to a church....it is to his foundation which I believe goes to luekemia.

Looked into it... it goes to children "who can't read good".

It's a program where children are given toys, bikes, and dvd players as prizes when they participate in an after-school reading program. WTF? Not being illiterate isn't motivation enough?

Oh well, I'll just pay my $25 I guess.

Either way, you should not feel conflicted. Its not really your donation, its his. Your just paying $25 for the autograph ; he is choosing to have that money donated to a church. Provided its not a cause which you detest, and I would assume you simply don't believe in religion as opposed to actively detesting it, send the $25 bucks and get your Gary Carter autograph!

Bill Mueller signs well from home and generally adds a few nice inscriptions. The rest of the Sox aren't really that good from home, although Trot Nixon is gettable.

Keith Hernandez is doing a show near me later this month and doing balls for $30.

Mueller also signed c/o the Dodgers last year since he's a special assistant to the team. Dave Roberts signs c/o NESN.

Particularly Randy Myers, who ranks right up there with Pete Vuckovich and John Denny as notoriously tough signers.

He's not an '86 Met, sorry. 10 games out of the pen doesn't qualify in my book.
