Hey I just wanted to say thanks for the great post! Congrats on your success. I hope and pray that you can do it one day at a time!!! As the son of a former drug user I just want to tell anyone who may have a problem whether it be drugs or alcohol that has kids. If you can't stop for yourself. Stop for them. It is a huge burden on kids when a parent has a problem like that. Children are not emotionally able to fully understand addiction, and in many cases suffer just as much as the parent. To this day I feel as though I need to take care of every situation(Commonly known as a people pleaser) There were so many nights that I had to make dinner for myself, and my siblings. Make sure everyone had a bath, Or put them to bed because mom was at work and dad was passed out on the couch from his 30 vicodin after work(Not kidding) Keep in mind I was in 4th grade. Not at all saying my dad was a loser or a bad man. As a matter of fact dad has been sober for over 10 years. I am just trying to pass along the message that what you do as a parent affects your children whether good or bad. Put your kids first. Vince, just wanted to say thank you for realizing you had a problem, and having the courage to face it and fight it. Keep fighting the good fight!!!
