Just wondering -

If four people are interested, then four people it will be. So basically everyone is going to walk away with something...except for one of you.

To answer your question ambrosia2112, I would prefer to have it real time.

If this is going to be a four person tournament, then it will be a two-round ordeal.

First I have to verify that all four of you are going to do this. Then I'm going to send each of you via PM a 10 question quiz so I know who to pit you against. The guy who gets the most right will face the guy who gets the second most right, and the guy who gets the third most right, he will face the one who gets the fourth most [or least] correct. So in this instance, in the first round jwf and jeremyp will face off, and Pedroia Fan and ambrosia will face off against each other.

The winners from the first round will face each other, and that will be determine the winner overall. The second place winner will be the loser of the final round, and the third place winner will be determined through a consolation round between the two losers in the first round.

Is this making sense?

This is how the questioning is going to work - it's going to be like a World Series. There are going to be a maximum of seven questions. The first one to four questions correct wins the round. If a person answers and gets a question correct, then we will move on to the next question. If a person does not answer a question correctly, then he cannot answer again until the other person has a chance to answer. If both people get it wrong, then the question is thrown out and a new one will be asked.

There is no order in which the question answering is to begin - that is, any of the participating players can try to be the first to answer the question correctly.

I have set the battle between ambrosia2112 and pedroia_fan to be on Thursday, starting at 8:00 PM, EST.

jamiewalkerfan and jeremyp4, should hang around too, because they're going as soon as ambrosia2112 and pedroia_fan_15 are done. Then we can do the final round after that if everyone is feeling up to it, and then the consolation round after that. However, it may be late by and and we may have to postpone the consolation round until Friday.

If anyone has any problems with this, then we can work something out.

ambrosia2112 enquired whether it will be real time, and the answer is yes. And to make sure there can't be too much Googling and Wikipedia-ing, there will be a five minute limit per question. That is, if five minutes goes by and no one answers the question, then a new one will be asked.
