Mavs are becoming a parody of themselves. As low as they picked, they had a guy (Mullens) who had a horrible frosh year at OSU, but has a world of potential...kid was the number 1 rated recruit in his class coming out of HS. They could have picked him, sat him behind Dampier for a year, then played him and Hollins together the year after for a young, athletic center duo.

Instead the trade him for a foreign PG who has no passing skills all while guys like Patrick Mills, etc could have been had in the 2nd round. Who better to stick Mills behind than Jason Kidd for 2 years to learn and develop?

Pitiful.

Sounds like talks have stalled since Golden State doesnt want to include Curry in the deal.

Biggest thing with the amare deal is that they have to wait til july one for biedrins' rookie salary to be set or something like that. The mavs drafted nobodies. We need to do something with some fa's.

Two issues are reportedly a concern.

The Warriors are reluctant to give up Curry. He’s irrelevant to the money part of the deal, since he has no contract. But, Phoenix probably needs some selling point to the cost-oriented gutting of their team.

Golden State also wants to sign Stoudemire to an extension. A three-year max extension combined with his two-years $34 million remaining would run the Warriors about $95 million over the next five years. Can a small market NBA owner afford that? Does it make sense before the impending lockout and salary restructuring?

Also, what now becomes of the surely dispirited Steve Nash? He still has a season to kill before joining LeBron and D’Antoni with his adopted hometown New York Knicks in 2010. Do the Suns prop the popular point guard in front to save face? Or, given the current fetish for crusty all-stars with the Shaq and Vince Carter trades, does he hitch a ride with another contender?

A day after firing their head coach, the Pistons have reportedly agreed to deals with Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva.

Looks like the Rockets and Lakers are swapping players, Ron Artest has verbally agreed with the Lakers, Trevor Ariza has verbally agreed with the Rockets.

Should be interesting to watch Artest and Kobe together, as much jawing as they did at each other in the playoff series.

Hedo Turkoglu has agreed to terms with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Eddie Jordan has added Mike O'Koren as his assistant head coach in Philadelphia. He has also retained Jim Lynam and Aaron Mckie as assistant coaches.

Turk is going to the Raptors instead... Stupid move. All about the money. Blazers with Turk would have been an interesting team to watch...

I saw that too. I think you are right about the money as well. But Turk said he changed his decision because Toronto is a more European style city and his wife likes that.

If Wallace goes to the Spurs.. that is going to be a dangerous team next year. As long as the Big Three stay healthy, that is.
