Its okay any of you want to jump on the bandwagon because half the city of St Petersburg and Tampa have also....

The Facts:

The Rays need to go at least go a 10-7 the next 17 games to set up one of the most exciting months in Rays history: the month of Sept. Anything better then 10-7 is a bonus due to the injuries to Crawford and Longoria until Maddon finds a lineup that works daily....

In the month of September the Rays play the the Yankees and Red Sox a total of 6 games each with both a home series and away series. They have brutal stretch of 9 games on the road from Sept 5th to the 14th with games against the Blue Jays, Red Sox, Yankees.

The Rays control their own destiny and shouldn't have to scoreboard watch until September 22nd if they have to have help to get the wildcard. If the Rays take care of their business the business should take care of them.

I say David Price makes his debut Sept 2nd.....

Though i am a red sox fan, i live near tampa and would love to see the Ray's go to the postseason. I think that as long as Evan and CC are back soon, they have a real chance. I dont know about Price though.

Bj Upton really needs to step it up and carry this team. Clutch hit tonight.

Percival left in the 9th due to a hamstring injury is worrisome.

My predictions for September call ups: N-Man, Price, and Talbot.

I can officially say I am not a bandwagon fan, lol. I have been to over 20 games nearly every single season beginning in the inagural year 1998, and have been a diehard since. I am really pulling for them (obviously), and I believe that we need to call up Price ASAP (especially if Percival goes to the DL, he would be a perfect callup), and I also believe that Balfour is a better closer than Percival. I think that Pena needs to stop striking out so much, and Upton needs to hustle. That combined with Longoria returning Sept 1st (if he does), and CC by the playoffs, I think this is our year.

With Longo and Crawford on the shelf, especially with extensive injuries, not sure if they can come back 100%. Percival has been a key to them, he's down. I don't know how they can fair in the post season, but they sure are showing some promise now!

i think that if they call up price they will probably do it before september, b/c if they bring him up in september he cannot be on the postseason roster.

Rays win 7-0 on a complete game by Matt Garza with only 2 BB and 9k's. That will go miles with the bullpen getting a night off.

Offense coming from Pena, Hinske, Gross and Aybar.

I am really starting to like Maddon has a manager.

His handling of Upton is the correct way to handle a player that assumes a lot. I dont see why a major league player would assume he is out by not running hard has he can anyway. You never know what is going to happen. Reminds me a lot of Bobby Cox pulling Andruw Jones off the field during a inning for him lazily allowed a single to drop in center field.

Rays gain a half a game on the Sox and have a 4.5 game lead

I made plans to go to the last Red Sox game in Tampa in September and the Twins game the next day.
