2008 Baseball Player Passings
I know this is a morbid topic, but I'm trying to send to many players from the '50's now, and I hate getting a letter back from the family saying the player has passed. I'll try to stay as current as possible and share what I find.

Gerald Staley 1920-2008
Played for Cardinals, Reds, Yankees, White Sox, Tigers, and A's. 134-111 in 640 games. He just signed for me last October.

Harvey's list is only updated quarterly
This will be a good thread to include deaths as they occur, so we can be aware of people who die between Harvey updates.

AstroFan, you should make a master list in Post #1 of this thread, and include names as they are posted. That way it will be easy to see all of the passings in one post.

I'll keep posting them in the first post, that's a good suggestion.

I got my Harvey list yesterday, and there is at least 1 player who died last year that's still listed with an address (Jim Beauchamp). I'm sure with printing deadlines, etc., he couldn't get them all.

Chuck Daniel - played for Detroit Tigers in 1957. Died on 1/13.

Johnny Podres - died on 1/13.

Steve Ridzik (Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Senators, New York Giants & Cincinnati Reds from 1950-66) died Jan. 8.
