Are you using photoshop?

If so, add drop shadow to the two side boxes on the second one so it kind of looks 3-d.

I personally like the one with the grey instead of the blue and gold. I like my cards to look the same and I think if you started going crazy and making them for other teams some of the colors would not look that good. Just my take. Sharp looking cards though. Good luck!

I don't like the highlighting of the text. It is going to vary from card to card based on the length of the name, and I personally do not think it makes the card attractive.

I dont like the white border around the player. If you can take that out, I think the color on black/white/gray will look much better
