SJNComic in-person

Hey all! Well, I have moved back down to Florida so I am making up for lost time doing IP. My scanner is not working right now so I don't have scans of anything.

Thursday pulled in to visit in Orlando and just missed the Mavs bus. I did get one player heading out for lunch though...

Dirk Nowitzki 1/1 floorboard

Friday did the DRays/Yankees AAA/AA

Delmon 1/1
BJ Upton 2/4
Chris Seddon 3/3
Ryan Christianson 2/2
James Houser 3/3
Fernando Cortez 1/1
Chuck Tiffany 2/2 and I gave him 2 U&H
Brian Stokes 2/2
Jeff Niemann 6/6 and I gave 3 to kids getting autos and gave Jeff 1
Rocco Baldelli was getting some ABs and he did 2/2 but I think he would do anything... he did 4/4 for someone else.

For the Yanks I got Melky Cabrera 2/2 but I saw him do 9 for someone and Kevin Thompson 1/1. Also got Frank Howard on a BP baseball and he added 1960 NL ROY.

I will update as the year goes on...

How do you find out and determine when players will head out to lunch and stuff??? I was in Orlando back at the end of February trying to do the Sonics at the hotel before the game but I found out the Sonics bus left early for the game. Was it a case of that with the Mavs bus??? BTW, nice pickup on Dirk Nowitzki.

The Sonics I believe leave the earliest out of the entire NBA.When teams are in Boston they usually go for lunch anytime between 12:30 and 3 for a 7:30 gametime.I mainly just hang outside the hotel if it's a team I need graphs of for a couple hours.

most players head out to eat after shootaround. Whatever time that ends, about half hour later they go out.

Went over to watch the intra-squad of the Rays... BJ blew the 2 of us off but we didn't really ask for him as we asked for Delmon and he came right over and actually acknowledged us, chatted for a minute or so, then said "glad to see you guys out here."

Delmon Young 1/1

Hey baad.. I got your email and will get back to you on it!

So... the past 24 hours have been cool getting the Penguins...

Sergei Gonchar 1 card and 1 signed puck. Really nice guy. I chatted with him about the NCAA Championship and he asked who won so I told him Wisconsin and he asked about details of the game.

Marc-Andre Fleury 1 custom card 1 signed puck. I have heard bad things about him but he has to be one of the friendliest people I have ever met. I mentioned to him that he sent me an extra jersey card TTM and he smiled and said, "Glad you liked it" and shook my hand. He then proceeded to chat with everyone for 5 minutes and I told him I would send some cards to him for his collection.

John Leclair 1 signed card and could have gotten him 2 more times but had nothing on him with me here in Florida. Ended up chatting with him about Philly.

Phil Bourque 2 signed cards.

Michael Lang - signed card filler and inscribed it "Michael, Michael motorcycle!!". If you have ever heard him you would know this guy is one of the greats in broadcasting.

Ryan Malone 1 signed card.

Ryan Whitney 1 signed custom card.

Oh yeah, another rookie...

Sidney Crosby...

1 short signature Beckett cover. He signs short when people surround him.
1 short signature ESPN cover that you can barely see because he signed it as he was walking in the hotel door and barely put the paint pen on it.

At this point I was disappointed in his sig since I got him in October he had a full sig.

Then, for the bus we were all lined up and I asked him to personalize so I got a full sig personalized Hockey News prospect photo. Lastly, after the game I got him to personalize the photo of him inside the ESPN of him on the ice with a live penguin. He gave a full signature and made it out to me.

Great, great night!!!!

Went to the DRays Tuesday and Wednesday... we (Farbs9 and I) didn't try really but I got Daniel Cabrera on a baseball.

Wednesday was better though.

Miguel Tejada 1/1 card
Melvin Mora 1/1 SP ball
Seth McClung 1/1
Carl Crawford 1/1
Jorge Cantu 1/1 1/1
Toby Hall 1/1
Nick Green 1/1
and in the parking lot I was totally unprepared as Javy Lopez came out to his car. I got him on a card pack filler 1/1.

Are either of you going tonight or tommorrow night for the Royals?

I may go, more than likely tommorrow if I do.

I may go tomorrow, Saturday... if not, I may go for the parking lot after the game. Hope to see you there!
