Nice job with the Lightning. They were great anytime they came through here in Buffalo last season so I'm hoping to get to see them again this season.

Dan Boyle 1/1
Tortorella 1/1 ESPN Title page
Marc Denis 1/1
Cory Sarich 1/1
Brad Richards 1/1

Friday night was good and bad. I went to the hotel at 4:30 to get Dennis Miller who was doing an 8PM show. It kept getting later and later and at 7:50 a van pulls up from the venue. The guy goes in and 20 minutes later Dennis Miller comes walking out with about 4 people around him. I ask, "Mr. Miller, would you mind signing?" He kind of stepped back surprised to see someone asking to sign. He then pointed at his phone, which I didn't realize that he was using it. I stepped back and "Sorry" but still held my SI out. He then stops and says to the person on the phone "A young man here who sees I am on the phone feels that it is more important for me to sign something for him so hold on." I was dumbfounded. 100% of the time that I have encountered an athlete on the phone, they either keep going or put it on their shoulder and sign while talking on it. He then proceeds to sign it sideways, "You are not cool, Dennis Miller". So, I got the sig but thought he was kind of rude when I apologized for my mistake. I will have a scan up Monday.

He was also a pompous ass when I met him, so do not feel bad. He knows that people are going to be waiting for him where he goes. Get off your phone.
