tuesday as I was pulling up out walked Phil hughes

today I went to get the GCL Phillies... their first rounder Collier went back to Philly for his physical. According to coaches their other first rounder, Hewitt, should be signed soon.

I was able to get the following:

Anthony Gose - 08 2nd rounder
Jason Knapp - 08 2nd rounder
Sebastian Valle - 17 yo PR catcher. if anyone has ever seen the Bowman cards where the Latin players' signature looks like a 5 year old wrote it in print and not handwriting. this kid signs exactly like that. I will get a scan and show it.

Went over with clake13 to the seson ticket holder meeting with the Lightning. Came away with the following:

Barry Melrose 1 8x10 with 93 Conference Champs, 1 personalized card they handed out, and 1 signed blank puck

Steven Stamkos - 1 8x10 and 1 8x10 Sarnia image (thanks clake!) with #1 2008 pick underlined twice inscription

Thanks, Ryan! By the way, I got that thing to send out to you Monday...

I was the only one waiting for Chris and about an hour before showtime his car pulled up and onto the sidewalk. he got out of the back and came over to me as his bodyguard and assistant were still getting out of the car. I talked to him about being a comic and as we were talking he signed both items. he shook my hand and said nice meeting you, steve. It was a pretty cool experience. From what I hear after the show, his car was in the garage as it was raining. there were 8 people waiting. He pulled out and people gave chase to a gentleman's establishment. There his people chased everyone off saying he wasn't going to sign.

I love how the Stamkos photos turned out, anytime I got him with Sarnia, the sig looked NOTHING like that, his auto now is much sharper.

I haven't seen Stammer sign like that since late 2006. He must have been trying to impress down in Tampa.

After getting that guy on over 50 things in his OHL career I think I might have one or two that look that good.

Stamkos I heard s jsut a bunch of loops but since he was sitting he took his time and hit everything really nice and we were able to go through the line 2 times.

I will get a scan of the Knapp later tonight...
