Bigticket's 09 IP Autos

First event of the year was the Hot Stove in Pawtucket place was packed, more than I expected. Lars Anderson the big name on the ticket left about 1/2 way through the signing when I was finally at the front of the line and waited more than 1 hour in the line too which was a couple hundred people deep. Tough luck I guess, but I got all season to hammer him out. But I can tell he will be tough. Everyone else was very good and besides not getting the guy I came for I had a nice outing. Here are my totals:

Zach Daeges: 8/8, 2/2
Mark Wagner: 6/6, 3/3-Was excited to see cards of himself
Kris Johnson: 4/4, 3/3
Daniel Bard 2/2, 1/2

Me: Daniel would you mind signing a ball
Bard: Sure no problem

Then the Iron Sheik pops up and soup nazis me.

Sheik: NO 1 PER...next

Total:29

They were giving away BA with Lars on the cover picked up 6 or 7 of them to do during the season.

All 50/50s were completed will be going out Tuesday

I had a friend text me this morning saying he saw me on TV yesterday at the Hot Stove event, which was the last thing I wanted.

At the 10 second mark you can see me for a few seconds, I am the one in front of my boy (Patsfan9381) in the green Celtics jacket and behind the goofball in the Patriots hat.

LHV Ironpigs @ Pawtucket Redsox

Home opener in Pawtucket and it was a nice start to the season. Decent size crowd of graphers; a little more than 10 people. Just graphed outside pre-game and did well for McCoy standards. Helped that Rick wasn't around much and he just let us "dealers" (as he puts it) do our thing. Good start to the year and just hope the rest of the season goes this smoothly.

LHV Ironpgs

John Mayberry Jr 1/3? Saw him doing multiples for others, guess he didn't like the way I looked.

Jason Donald 3/3
Carlos Carrasco 5/5 (4 cards & 8x10)

Pawtucket Redsox
Jose Vaquedano 1/1
Angel Chavez 1/1
Carlos Maldonado 3/3
Dusty Brown 2/2
Michael Bowden 1/2, 1 per but very nice about signing
Kris Johnson 2/2
Jeff Corsaletti 1/1
Russ Morman 2/2
Daniel Bard 1/2, apparently he is 1 per now
Ivan Ochoa 2/2
Travis Denker 2/2
Jeff Natale 1/1
Chip Ambres 1/1 8x10
Zach Daeges 1/1 8x10
Fernando Cabrera 1/1
Marcus McBeth 4/4
Paul McNaulty 2/2 (signed a pair of GU Portland Beaver hats)

Wow Bowden's sig has improved. When I got Bowden in Toledo last year, he signed a shorter sig on the Bowman card for me.

LHV Ironpigs @ Pawtucket Redsox

Good outing yet again at Pawtucket very nice quality day. Did pre-game, went inside for a bit left and came back for postgame. Carlos Carrasco didn't touch a pen/sharpie all day but no biggie as I hit him yesterday. Got turned down by John Mayberry Jr on 3 different occasion and Mike Cervanek and Andrew Carpenter also turned me down after the game but still had a productive day. Here are my totals, got some numbers and quality so that is always nice.

LHV Ironpigs
Jason Donald 2/2 cards, 2/2 Team USA 8x10s
Kyle Kendrick 1/1

Pawtucket Redsox
Jose Vaquedano 6/6
Kris Johnson 4/4, 2/2
Fernado Cabrera 4/4
Russ Morman 1/1
Sean Danielson 1/1
Jeff Bailey 1/1, 1/2
Daniel Bard 1/2, 1/1 SS ROMLB
Michael Bowden 1/2
Clay Buchholz 1/1 SS ROMLB, 1/1

Other
Bob Montgomery 1/1: Played 10 seasons with the Boston Redsox in the 70s, he backed up Fisk.

Inside over by LHV dugout Buccholz starting signing for everyone with club seats down on the field and is signing away, I run over and hand my ball down to him and he is holding a black sharpie and the fun begins:

Me: Clay would you mind using my pen
(Clay nods, I hand him my pen)
Me: Clay could you sign on the SS please?
Clay: Boy you sure are bossy, (he goes ahead and signs on the SS beautiful, hands it back)
Me: Thanks Clay I appreciate it
Clay: (Very Sarcastically) Yea....I'm sure you do.

Two nice days in Pawtucket and they both have something in common, Rick staying out of the way and Bobby not being around.

LHV Ironings @ Pawtucket Redsox

Just did some postgame today was there for about 40 minutes or so had to fight off a sizeable crowd of I'd say 30 people or so. Buchholz was in the fenced in lot and Rick made sure that lot was collector I'm sorry dealer free. Daniel Bard completely ignored everyone and walked a B-line to his car. Otherwise I did pretty well, not bad for under an hour.

LHV
John Mayberry Jr. 2/2
Kyle Kendrick 2/2: Signed everything in sight, the bus driver was telling him to stop and get on

Pawtucket
Michael Bowden 1/1: Michael walked out with Rick on his tail, he stopped to sign for a little girl and Rick was backing people away, Michael waved Rick off signed for about 4 more people and left.

Kris Johnson 3/3: You can tell he is getting tired of signing already, didn't help that Bobby threw a page of his 08 Justifiable alone in his face.

Fernando Cabrera 2/2
Sean Danielson 2/2
Carlos Maldonado 1/1
Jose Vaquedano 2/2

Would you be interested in trading cards from league to league? I graph the Carolina League and I could use some guys in the league you are graphing (mainly the PawSox and Iron Pigs) Please let me know if you would ever be interested in exchanging cards.

Rochester Redwings @ Pawtucket Redsox

Just did some pregame graphing today before the rain came. As I was pulling into the stadium Buccholz's BMW zooms by me and he parks over by the batting cages. I race in see him get to the door....a few seconds late. And Julio Lugo was in for rehab assignment and there were 4 of us outside and he had nothing in his hands and came in at 8:30 for a 12:00 game so hey looks like there is no excuse not to sign, he says "I'll see you guys later". Lugo apparently went 0-2 2ks, on 7 pitches in his first two at bats. And Pawtucket's favorite son Johnathan Van Every came back up from the DL and he came in with Billy Traber.....what a surprise. Otherwise it was a good outing, it was awesome getting Rochester because the bus driver dropped them off at the far end not in front of the lockeroom so everyone had to walk up and I was picking guys off, I wish every team made that mistake. Anyway here are the numbers:

Pawtucket
Michael Bowden 1/1
Daniel Bard 1/1
Rich Sauver 1/1
Ron Johnson 2/2
Sean Danielson 2/2
Zach Daeges 4/4:
Kris Johnson 2/2: It has been 1 week in Pawtucket and he already sick of signing, get ready for a looooong season Kris.

Rochester
Anthony Swarzak 1/1
Mike Gosling 8/8
Alejandro Machado 2/2 "Good to be back my friends!"
Sean Henn 2/2
Reid Santos 1/1
Kevin Mulvey 1/1
Brock Peterson 1/1
Brian Duensing 1/1
David Winfree 1/1
Drew Butera 1/2

I think he just missed it that's all. He was really nice when he came over to sign, no one else needed him so I didn't see if he did multiples but I'm pretty sure he just skipped over it.
