Quinton Groves - 7/23/08 - Public appearance

Groves was signing graphs at a sports clothing store here in Jax from 6PM-8PM tonight. Went out there and got an 8x10 Photofile signed in teal decco, an Auburn ball cap in gold decco that he personalized to my son, and an Auburn mini in dark blue sharpie.

I have found the gold and silver at craft stores. I have a teal one, but couldn't find it for the Garrard mini. The teal on the 8x10 was provided by the player.

8/5/08 Jaguars Training Camp

This is the first night of camp I went that it wasn't raining, so the boy and I did some graphing. As the players walked from the practice field to the locker room, the big 3 (Garrard, MJD and Freddy T.) all threw mini plastic footballs to fans. My son got a black football from Garrard, signed in silver paint pen. Not too much luck with anyone else signing during the walk, although most players were signing, but skipping around.

Here is how my son did:

Plastic mini football:
David Garrard (1/1)

Cards:
Cleo Lemon (1/1) - 2008 Topps #38
Marcedes Lewis (1/1) - 2006 Bowman #152 (for trade)
Mike Walker (1/1) - 2007 Score #345 (for Semperfi)
Daryl Smith (1/1) - 2007 Score #239 (for whiteborder)
John Henderson (1/1) - 2007 Topps Total #131 (for trade)
Reggie Nelson (1/1) - 2008 Topps #264
Matt Jones (1/1) - 2006 Leaf Certified Materials #69
Dennis Northcutt (1/1) - 2008 Topps #170
Todd Bouman (0/2) - looked at my son with a stupid look on his face

8x10s:
David Garrard (1/1) - short sig (for sale/trade)

2008 tallys:
Cards - 16
8x10s - 3
Hats - 1
Mini Helmets - 2
Mini Footballs - 1

Yeah I have one of those too from last year, and will do another one this year. Think you can edit your post to remove all those pics? Thanks

Tell him you are doing the whole set signed and tell him he can "x" out the logo and cross out the team name.

If it's a glossy card (your 06 Topps set) tell him to inscribe "Raiders Suck", then remove it if you want.

I had a friend try that and porter said NO and laughed he said if we knew how the raiders treated him we would understand...so I am guess right now ...no raiders cards or raiders items...although I thought of a solution I am not sure where I saw it for sale on the net but some one had the stickers used by or similar to the ones the card companies use...if you could get him to sign one then you can just put the signed clear sticker on the card...I am planning on trying that with him when the come to baltimore...have him sign then just add it to my turkey red card which I am working on the 2006 set 160/315 as of now!!!
Thanks
Matt

Matt (mwparry123), that sounds like a good idea. Avery makes "Clear" address labels in different sizes. You can get them at Office Depot, etc. That might work, but a lot of players not are even hesitant to sign blank stuff. I might give that a try. See if that works Matt (jacksonvilleautos).

JJ, thanks for the set help! I would be interested in the Henderson Score card too if you want to hold it. I am SURE that I will have set cards you need for trade bait back soon.
