April 5th- Opening Day- Lakeland Flying Tigers

Saturday was Opening Day for the Flying Tigers. With it being the first game and all the pre-game and post-game stuff going on, I wasn't able to get as much done as I was hoping for. Most players said they would sign after the game.

Because it was also Saturday and they have fireworks after the game you have only a few minutes to get what you can before they turn out the lights on you. So I was able to get Porcello, Robbins, and Baez and that was it.

Justin Justice hit a two run homer to lead the Tigers to a win 4-3.

Threshers:
Welinson Baez 2/2
Adrian Cardenas 5/5
Alan Robbins 1/1 (for gorphils)

Flying Tigers:
Brennan Boesch 3/3
Rick Porcello 1/1

It's been pretty much covered, but yeah Porcello has been one per that I've seen.

For Herndon It really just depends on what kind of mood he's in. Sometimes he's super nice, other times he'd rather not be bothered. I know several times last season, he asked people "How many times have you got me this season?"

As far the other guys, Scott Sizemore has also been 1 per. Michael Bertram has been 2 per.

I haven't seen anyone else on Lakeland with any limits but I haven't had much time yet to tell. If I notice anything, I will post in here. We don't have another home game until Monday.

Lakeland at Clearwater

Saturday I went with a group from Lakeland to watch the Flying Tigers play the Threshers.

The Good:
We got there at 4:45. Gates opened at 5 for a 6:30 game.

The Bad:
The tickets weren't picked up until 6:25 and we got in right before the anthem. Also Saturday is Fireworks Night and also had an appearance by Birdzerk!

The Ugly:
The nasty look and shake of the head given to me and my friend by Matt Spencer when we asked if he would sign following the game. Were the only two asking for him.

Totals:
Quentin Berry 1/1 (in the dark)
Adrian Cardenas 6/6 super nice as usual

Denied (after the game):
Dan Brauer
Matt Spencer

Up next:
Sarasota at Lakeland- Monday 7:00 pm

Sarasota at Lakeland

The Reds were in town to take on the Flying Tigers Monday night. Duane Below gave up 12 hits and 7 earned runs in the loss. Alex Smit got the win for the Reds.

Most of the Tigers said they would sign after the game then they lost and it was like a Reds home game after. Their players all stopped to sign for me and the small crowd who waited out in the wind. Tigers Iorg and Roof were cool though as usual and stopped but that was it.

Pedro Cotto was in uniform for Lakeland. He said he would be playing tomorrow. Anthony Gressick was there for Sarasota replacing Sean Henry on the roster.

The Reds were in town last night to take on the Flying Tigers. Cale Iorg hit a solo home run in the Tigers 6-2 win. Matt O'Brien got the win, Daniel Geurrero took the loss. Wood, Smith, and Smit were all in the stands. Sean Watson was used out of the bullpen today so I had to wait until after the game to get him.

Not sure what his limit is. He signed the Bowman Chrome, skipped over his 07 Dayton card again and asked if I wanted him to sign my 4x6 and he did.
