I've got Maybin, Miller, Szamardija, Cain, Bruce, Volstad, and a bunch from last year plus what I've got this year. I still haven't finished up developing the ST ones yet. Posting them is on the do list with that tradelist that I never get around to listing.

I just started taking them last year after having so many players without cards walk by. I only take them before the game, the ones taken after the game look terrible (not enough light).

I may post some of the pictures with the better known prospects that come through or whoever anyone wants to see.

Let me get all my 50/50s in the mail and then I'll work on it. Another batch of them go out tomorrow.

I didn't see any limits with Francisco but most people were trying to get Stubbs.

Jordan Smith skipped over his 07 Dayton card I had on both nights I saw him. Maybe its just that card or he didn't know it was of him. Who knows.

Boesch hasn't had any limits I've seen yet.

Last night the Tampa Yankees were in town to take on the Flying Tigers. Luis Marte's bid for a no-hitter was broken up by a bunt in the the top of the 8th by James Cooper. Jeramy Laster had a two run home run to lead the Tigers to their third straight win 4-1.

Due to Thursday's day off, Rick Porcello still has yet to pitch a home game. He is pitching tonight's away game in Tampa and finally a game at home against the Dunedin Blue Jays at 10:30am on the 24th (which I'm not going to of course).

Was hoping to see one of Tampa's bullpen guys I needed pitch last night (Cox, Valdez, Melancon) because they all walked behind the fence to the bullpen before the game but they didn't and I never saw them.

Some of Tampa's numbers were wrong. Chris Kunda wore #59. A catcher was wearing #22, and a hitter was wearing #18.

The Dunedin Blue Jays were in town Wed. night to take on the Flying Tigers. Luis Marte pitched 7 innings giving up only 3 hits and struck out 11 to get the win 3-1. Gustavo Chacin started for Dunedin and took the loss. JP Arencibia was warming up near the bullpen with Chacin before the game but he did sign after the game. Chacin signed by the clubhouse corner after coming out of the game.

Scott Rolen started at 3rd base today. He signed before the game. He signed for my friend and then instead of going down the line towards home plate signed left back to the clubhouse corner. He then skipped over me and signed down the line towards home plate.

I asked Rolen to sign and he said "Didn't I already get you?" I said "No sir." A lady agreed with me and he signed my card. First time ever getting him. He was signing one per. There was no getting him after the game. He ran by to the clubhouse after the top of the 7th inning when everyone was getting Chacin to sign.

It was too crowded down there to try and take pictures with players today.
Never saw Jordan Tata who is listed with Lakeland.

Dunedin:
JP Arencibia 6/8
Brett Cecil 8/8
Gustavo Chacin 1/2 - "I can only sign one."
Brian Dopriak 1/1
Scott Rolen 1/1
Luis Sanchez 1/1 - 4x6
Sean Shoffit 1/1

Lakeland:
Duane Below 4/4
Michael Bertram 2/2
Larry Herndon 2/2
Cale Iorg 1/4 - had to go, umpires were on the field
Jeremy Laster 1/1 - program
Louis Ott 1/1 - program

In the stands:
Fernando Rodney 1/1

4-25 Dunedin at Lakeland

The Blue Jays played the Flying Tigers in game 3 of this seires Friday night. Dunedin edged out a win 5-4. Duane Below and Robert Ray were the starters.
Juan Cedeno (04 Red Sox cards) made his debut for the Flying Tigers in relief.
He took Fredy Dolsi's spot who was promoted to Double A.

Never saw Gustavo Chacin or Jordan Tata. JP Arencibia was warming up the pitcher and said he would sign after the game. Scott Sizemore said "It is too close to gametime to sign."

I didn't have many cards today so i was trying to get pictures taken with players. Missed Brad Emaus, Al Quintana and Jesus Gonzalez getting picture with others and Julio Pinto was wearing a different number and walked by.

April 26 - The Search for Slowey

Fort Myers was in town tonight to take on the Flying Tigers. Kevin Slowey was making a rehab start for Fort Myers. He picthed 5 innings, gave up zero hits and zero runs and didn't get the win. Jonah Nickerson had a no hitter going in the 7th and gave up two total hits to get the win. Matt Fox gave up three wins to take the loss.

We were waiting down by the clubhouse corner waiting for Slowey to walk by. A little kid had a Slowey 4x6 he wanted signed. The trainer walked by. We were going to ask him if Kevin was still in the dugout when he saw the kid's picture and said "Kevin this kid's looking for you." He must have came from the bullpen when he came out because there he was, down by the clubhouse entrance.

He was cool. He came over signed the kid's picture, was talking to the dad and kid about stuff being super nice. He signed a ball for the kid, then a card and didn't personalize anything for him. I was right next to the dad and right by Kevin, didn't interrupt, had my pen out and my stuff ready to get signed which he saw. Then when he finished talking, I noticed him starting to move the other way. I said " Kevin would you please sign?" He said " I have to go finish up with the trainer but I'll come back." There were about 6 of us. Okay, here we go.

We wait by the corner and see him and the trainer down by the clubhouse entrance. He sees us but doesn't come down. So we waited. Then the trainer comes out and stands there to watch the game. I said "Is Kevin gone?". He said "No. He has ice on his shoulder but said he was going to come out and sign for you guys. But you may want to wait in the parking lot just in case since he is driving back to Fort Myers tonight."

So we stay there hoping he'll keep to his word and sign. He was dressed in street clothers and stuck his head out of the clubhouse. Then went back in. So we wait and he does it again. We call for him. He goes back in. So forget this, we go to the parking lot. The back parking lot gate was locked so he had to go out front. Then we see him on the phone, back and forth again probably looking for a way out and there wasn't one.

He walks out in the parking lot, says nothing, so we ask again. He said "Real quick." Says "What's your name?" to each of the FOUR of us and signed 1 per and personalized it. Wow. Funny how people change when kids aren't around. Then the fireworks went off so there was no getting anyone else after the game. I spent half the game waiting for him. Everyone else I am going to try to get tomorrow.

Guerra signed before the game, rare for a starter. Tyler Robertson, Jeff Manship, and Cole Devries were all in the stands. Porcello and Marte were in uniform tonight while Nickerson and Below were in the stands. Robertson and Marte take the mound for tomorrow's 7:00 game to wrap up the series.

4-28 Fort Myers at Lakeland

The Miracle played the Flying Tigers in game 3 of their series. Luis Marte was excellent as usual pitching 7 innings giving up only 4 hits and 0 runs and had a 3-0 lead when he left the game. Unfortunately Brendan Wise gave up 4 earned runs in 0.1 innings of relief to give the Miracle a 4-3 win. Jose Lugo got the win in relief of Miracle pitcher Tyler Robertson.

Toby Gardenhire was sent to New Britain so he was not there today. No sign of Cale Iorg today either as he was not in the lineup for Lakeland.

Porcello and Below were in uniform and signed before the game. One guy asked Porcello to sign after the game and he said no. I don't like asking our guys to sign after the game when we lose. Andy Barkett was ejected to top off a crazy game with on and off rain.

The Flying Tigers hit the road until May 7th when the Vero Beach Rays make their only stop of the season to play 4 games.

5-7 Vero at Lakeland

After a long road trip, the Flying Tigers were back at home to take on the visiting Vero Beach Devil Rays. I had no idea Ben Zobrist would be there until I saw his name on the lineup board. He was super cool as usual. Vero Beach in general is the nicest visiting team I've seen all season. Too bad I didn't have much for them and they only come to Lakeland four games all year.

Tigers won 8-4 behind the pitching of Jonah Nickerson. Zach Simons made his Flying Tigers debut wearing Justice's old number 24. Pedro Cotto was back in the lineup tonight as well. Never saw most of the bullpen guys as usual. Chuck Tiffany did make a point to walk all the way over and sign when asked and was very cool about it.

5-8 Vero at Lakeland

Vero and Lakeland played game 2 of their four game series. Ben Zobrist started at third base today. He said he would be playing some 2nd and shortstop in the next 2 games here. Jeremy Hellickson was the starter giving up only 6 hits and 0 earned runs. Their bullpen couldn't hold the lead as Lakeland came back to win 4-3. Brendan Wise was great in relief giving up only 2 hits in 2 innings and picked up the W.
