4/4/08 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Indy Indians

Headed after school to McCoy got there around 3pm and missed the McCutcheon, Walker and Pearce. Some off the Indy scrubs were coming off buses 3 or 4 at a time but no one big. It was rainy all day and as expected game got called. Headed quickly back out to catch Indy onto the bus and there were 4 people wating including myself. McCutcheon came out with a plate of food in one hand and drink in another I stopped him and asked just to give it a shot, and he gave me a look, shock his head and walked onto the bus. Neil Walker stopped and signed but the whole team was shouting telling him to get on. Awful day at McCoy and not was I was expecting at all. Doubleheader tommorow but with rain expected to come tommorow as well I might just go Sunday and not spend 12 hours at McCoy tommorw. Here are my totals:

David Pauley 3/3 cards: signed coming in

Neil Walker 1/1 8x10: The rain f'd up my shot sig came out ok though could have done more but the his teamates were giving him crap

Brandon Moss 1/1 card : Signed as he was waiting for his girl, really cool and happy to sign would have done more but 1 was what I had.

scans are up on my site

4/5/08 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Indy Indians

Well headed out to McCoy for a doubleheader got to the stadium at 11:15 to hang my stuff and I ended up enduring the cold and stayed for both games. 1st game was solid, 2nd game was a blowout and McCutcheon hit a monster hr. Headed to the parking lot at 6 and waited for the buses. Walker, Pierce and Bixler ran on without giving anyone a glance. McCutcheon came out and started heading towards the bus then he come over and started to sign I had to run over and get him and I was one of maybe 10 of the 30 or so people waiting. He grabbed my ball and turn in to SP and before he grabed my pen I asked him to SS and did nicely. Tried dipping him but he recognized me. All in all a solid day and I came away with what I wanted. Probably won't be making the trip tommorow.

Edgar Martinez 3/3: signed the 3 I had from the dugout, came out very nice

Abe Alvarez 2/2: see above

Bryan Pritz 3/3: see above, came out from the dugout to tell me it was cool for him to see some of his cards

Brandon Moss: didn't open my binder and signed my binder cover, very upsetting

Jed Lowrie: see above

Jonah Bayliss 1/1: Postgame, he is from Mass and was with family very nice guy would have done more but only had 1

TJ Beam 1/1: postgame coming onto the bus (for a friend)

Ty Tanbenheim 4/4: stood around waiting for someone to call him out, I got ya big guy (3/3 help, 1/1 for a friend)

David Pauley 1/1: postgame

John Van Every 1/1: postgame, surprised he stopped, he hit another HR today so I guess he was in a good mood

Andrew McCutcheon 1/1: SS ROMLB, mission accomplished

Total: 19

4/19 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Buffalo Bison

Headed to McCoy for the first time in 2 weeks and meet up with Alex (Alejandromyfriend) I arrived at 12:30 for pregame at left at 4. I was looking to get Aaron Laffey (who was the starter today) but never saw him or Sowers so they must have taken a cab and snuck in. A McCoy miracle occured when Craig Hansen signed for us, he was making me, my bro and Alex's son chase him in the backlot before he parked in the player's lot. Also got Hansen's new best buddy Lincoln Holdzkom coming in he actully put down a bag he was carrying to sign for me which was nice, only signed for me and then headed in. Adam Miller who is on the DL then came walking over and I guess he took a cab. Anyways didn't think he would show so was ill prepared but had an ROMLB and he signed the SS nicely. All in all a nice day at McCoy and I'm pleased the results. There is a chance I will be going tommorow for a possible all day affair.

Craig Hansen 1/2: See story above, still very surprised he signed.

Lincoln Holdzkom 2/2: Very nice about signing, which was surprising, still have a few left of this guy.

David Pauley 4/4: Good for a couple as always
Abe Alvarez 3/3: same as Pauley
Edgar Martinez 1/1 (50/50): routine
Chad Spann 2/2: Saw him coming in just as I was going to leave

Jordan Brown 1/1 8x10: Had no cards of him and printed out an 8x10 10 min. before I headed over, wish I had more as he was very nice and quietly signed a couple.

Adam Miller 1/1 SS ROMLB: Surprised to see him and he was very nice. If I head over tommorow I'll look to get some 8x10s done.

Total: 15

Got down to Pawtucket at 12:30 for the first time in awhile. Norfolk was in and I was hopping to get Liz and Colon who were the starting pitchers for the 1st of the day's doubleheader. Did well outside pre-game with Pawtucket, missed Chris Smith though which upset me but I'll get him another time. Sean Casey and Alex Cora came were in on assignment last day in Pawtucket for the pair, Casey was nice and did 1 per for those waiting outside, asked me if I wanted SS and signed nicely in blue bic pen. Cora didn't stop and neither did Bartolo when they came in. As I was about to leave and purchase my ticket 2 hours before gametime at 4 a taxi pulls up and I knew who it was right away, Radahmes Liz. He was the only guy in me, my bro and my friend were the only ones put down his bag and signed nicely for us, kind of nice that he did that especially since he was going to pitch the 1st game at 6. All in all I had a good day, pleased with my results and got one of my targets. Here are my totals:

Pawtucket Pawsox

David Pauley 4/4: (2 for me, 2 for a 50/50)
Abe Alvarez 1/1: 8x10
Lee Gronkiewicz 4/4: (2 for me, 2 for a 50/50)
Lincoln Holdzkom 2/2
Charlie Zink 3/3
Edgar Martinez 3/3: (2 for me, 1 for a 50/50)
Dusty Brown 2/2
Chad Spann 1/1 (50/50)
George Kottaras 1/2
Sean Casey 1/1: SS ROLB1

Norfolk Tide

Chris Roberson 2/2: "How many y'all got?"
Adam Stern 1/1
Radhames Liz 2/2: card, 8x10

Total Autos 28 (22 for me)

Thanks I'm getting some scans up now. Yea Kottaras is usally does 2 there were maybe around 15-20 people there so I'm guessing the crowd turned him off to doing more than 1. Yea Casey was very nice though, today was the last day that he'd be in Pawtucket, Colon I think will get 1 more start before getting the call.

It's up in the air, Colon wasn't that great tonight in his outing a think 4 or 5 hits and 1er through 3 he was hitting 97 on the gun, like I said I belive he will make 1 more start so there is a chance, but he doesn't really respond well to crowd from what I've seen.

May 24th Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Rochester Redwings

Spent a little over 10 hours at McCoy today (brutal is a vast understatement), goals were to get a few from Masterson and Francisco Liriano. Meet them both as Liriano refused coming off the bus but inside during warmups I asked him 2x and ignored me, 3rd time is after BP ends and there are roughly 15 people over the dugout calling for him (me being one), Liriano stops and points to me and signed beautifully on the SS, signed for one more kid before heading inside. Masterson was dropped off pre-game and signed SS but when I asked for his 1st ML Win w/ statline he told me he couldn't do inscriptions. He signed an 8x10 which I no longer have. Inside when I hung my cards Masterson came over and signed all 3 that I had, I went over to the Red Wings dugout for Liriano when I see an 8x10 fall from my binder, I then see some guy in the dugout (not a player, or staff member) take in inside the dugout and places it on the bench. Told the secruity and staff members but they didn't really help me out. Though I'll get other oppurtunities so no worries. Overall it was a decent day was rough but ended up getting what I wanted so can't complain.

Turned down by: George Kottaras "I'll get you later" Yea you will cause you aren't going anywhere. Chris Carter, Chris Smith, and my favorite Edgar Martinez not once but twice, E-Mart turned me down pre and post game, ugh.

Pre-Game Outside
Lee Gronkiwiecz 1/1-team helmet
Charlie Zink 1/1-team helmet
Jeff Bailey 2/2 (1 50/50)
Joe Thurston 2/2 (1 50/50)
Justin Masterson 2/2: SS ROMLB, 8x10 (story above)
Jon Switzer 2/2 (1 50/50)
Jose Vaquenado 1/1 (50/50)
Michael Tejara 1/2
David Pauley 6/6-he was the starter but as always willing to sign

Inside
Justin Masterson 3/3
Francisco Liriano 1/1: SS ROMLB

Outside
Jed Lowrie 1/1-Surprised he stopped, there were about 25-30 people outside waiting for graphs, signed for 10 before Ricky wrapped his arms aroudn him and took him away

Hunter Jones 1/1-team helmet
Gil Velazquez 1/1-team helmet

Total: 24 (20 for me)

Next up: Possibly Monday for Scranton Yanks if not then it'll be a while before I hit up Pawtucket again.

Justin Masterson

Francisco Liriano

Monday May 26th Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Scranton Yanks

Went down to McCoy on my way to a Memorial BBQ only could stay for an hour pre-game so obviously not expecting numbers. Was just hoping to get some Scranton guys and Justin Masterson. Scranton was awful, guys just came off the bus and walked right in only 2 guys stopped. Then black beamer comes rolling by and it was Clay Buchholz. Parks in the backlot and the 15-20 people waiting just dart to him. Clay comes out and walks over and signs 1 per for everyone. Totally unexpected, and I was ill prepared but I has a Sox mini helmet so threw him on that. Hopefully he will be rehab'n for a lil while in Pawtucket. Like I said only was there an hour but I came away with Buchholz so can't complain. Went back postgame to get some of the Scranton guys and did ok, Jed Lowrie who said he'd sign after the game didn't and no sign of Masterson again after the game, I think he is getting picked up over near by the side doors, instead of in front of the looker room. Anyways was an another sub par day in Pawtucket. Here are the totals:

Pre-Game
Dusty Brown 1/1-team mini helmet
Chris Carter 1/1-team mini helmet
Keith Ginter 1/1-team mini helmet
Nick Green 2/2- (both for Trav)
George Kottaras 1/4-It is going to take all season to finish this guy
Clay Buchholz 1/1- team mini helmet

Postgame

Kei Igawa-2/4, 1/2, 1/1-triple dip to finish him but hey in the end got all my 4 cards done
Juan Miranda-1/2, 1/1 (help, 50/50)
Brett Gardner 1/1
David Pauley 1/1- team mini helmet
Eric Hull 1/1- team mini helmet
Lincoln Holdzkom 1/1-team mini helmet
Charlie Zink, Gil Velazquez, Chad Spann and Chris Carter 1/1 for all of them on Pawsox Patter (team newspaper)

Total: 21 (18 for me)

scans will be on my site later

Sunday June 8th 2008 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Buffalo Bison

Went for the game today and I don't know why as it was over 90 degrees out. Got their to late to graph pregame or inside so these results are just postgame. So considering it was just post game it wasn't that bad at all. Funny story actually, I over near the Buffalo bullpen and in between an inning I ask Yamid Haad to sign. He says he can't due to league regulations. So a little while after that go to the bathroom near the pen to bleed the lizard and Yamid walks in. He goes "Hey man when your done wait outside, I got to take a pis then I'll sign for you." So when Yamid comes out he checks to see if anyone was around and sigs and says that if anyone saw him signing during the game he'd get in trouble and get a fine and he goes ya man I need to get paid. Nice guy and a nice story I guess. Postgame was solid got all that I really had for Buffalo cept Brian Slocum didn't know he got sent down so my cards of him were sitting at home instead. Solid day and will be back out again this week to clean up on Pawtucket since Louisvile's only prospects got sent up recently.

Inside
Yamid Haad 1/1 (story above)

Postgame
David Pauely 5/5 (2 for me, 3 50/50s-Nice as always, couldn't stop laughing at this Rich Sauver Harrisburg setter from the late 80s I had, his stahce in that pic is crazy.

Hunter Jones 2/3 (1 for me, 1 for a 50/50)
Jose Vaquenado 3/3 (1 for me, 2 for a 50/50)
Chris Carter 1/1 8x10: Hit a monster HR today
Tommy Mastny 1/1
Jordan Brown 3/3
Josh Barfield 1/1: Didn't look at anyone coming onto the bus, bus comes back gets dropped of doesn't look at anyone. Then we and he hears inside that he is getting the call to Clevland so he is taking a cab to the airport from the stadium. He coems out smiling and all and puts down his bags and signs, guess he was happy about getting the call.

Jed Lowrie 1/1: Did a card for me, though FYI he said he can no longer SS

Total: 18 (12 for myself)
