CopperJJ's 2008 Jacksonville Suns & SL IP thread

Well another season underway. Gotta get in the hang of things again. Started off a rainy night, as well as the time the gates open is 30 minutes later than last year. I did not get season tickets this year, due to my son playing baseball.

Jacksonville Suns:
Russell Mitchell (2/2) - 2007 Grandstand IE 66ers x2
Kyle Wilson (2/2) - 2007 Grandstand IE 66ers x2
John Shoemaker (2/2) - 1991 Line Drive x2
Clayton Kershaw (2/2) - 2007 BDP, 2006 A&G custom while charting

West Tenn Diamond Jaxx:
Michael Saunders (5/10) = 07 Justifiable x2, 07 BDP x3 - "Guys, I'm not signing all of these."
Marshall Hubbard (1/1) - 2007 Grandstand West Tenn Diamond Jaxx
Luis Valbuena (1/1) - 2007 Grandstand West Tenn Diamond Jaxx
Luis Oliveros (1/1) - 2007 Grandstand West Tenn Diamond Jaxx
Travis Chick (2/2) - 2007 Topps Heritage, 2006 SL Top Prospects
Brandon Morrow (2/2) - 2006 TriStar, 2007 Topps '52 Chrome

2008 Suns autos: 8
2008 SL autos: 12

Surprised on Saunders, he did 8/8 for me at ST. He said, "wow you have a lot of these", but still signed them all.

Well after yesterday's rainout, I decided to brave the weather today for the double header. It was also picture day with the players on the field (not all the players...only 5). My son was sick so I went by myself and here is how I did.

Jacksonville Suns:
Ivan DeJesus Jr. (1/3) - 2007 BHP...oh brother
Shane Justis (2/2) - 2007 IE 66ers x2
Jamie Hoffmann (2/2) - 2007 IE 66ers, 2006 Vero Beach Dodgers
Glenn Dishman (3/3) - 2006 Vero Beach Dodgers, 1996 Topps, 1995 Bowman

West Tenn Diamond Jaxx:
Michael Saunders (1/1) = 07 Justifiable
Travis Chick (3/3) - 2005 SL Top Prospects, 2005 Bowman Heritage, 2005 Bowman Heritage mini
Brandon Morrow (2/2) - 2007 Topps '52, 2007 Bowman Prospects
Justin Thomas (3/3) - 2007 West Tenn Jaxx, 2007 SL Top Prospects, 2005BDP gold ... started game 1
Mumba Rivera (1/1) - 2007 West Tenn Jaxx
Craig James (1/1) - 2007 West Tenn Jaxx
Doug Fister (5/5) - 2007 West Tenn Jaxx, 2006 Bowman Chrome, 2006 Bowman gold, 2006 Bowman x2
Phil Plantier (2/2) - 1993 SP, 1992 Studio

2008 Suns autos: 16
2008 SL autos: 30

Get ready for a lot more of that. I'm so glad he isn't here anymore this year!

Did you get to ask Brandon Morrow why he was sent to AA? He didn't pitch that badly in the majors last season. I figured at worst he would start the season at AAA.

Congrats, sounds like a fun time! Stinks that little man was sick. That is hilarious about Dejesus . Does he just not like signing or is he rude about it?

Im pretty sure the Mariners just sent Morrow to AA because the weather isnt good in Tacoma in April. He is suppossed to be back up pretty soon.

This was on the field for meet and greet & pics before the game...I handed him the 3 cards (07 IE 66ers team card and 2 07 BHPs, with the IE 66ers card on top)and he looked at all three. He moved the BHP on top and said, "I'll sign this one, it's the better card."
