Another exceptional night of autographing in Western Pennsylvania (although I think we may have been closer to New York at one point). Tonight was the Pirates caravan autograph stop in Cranberry, PA (near Franklin, PA). The highlights were the following:

a) Hearing about one women's obsession with Jack Wilson for about thirty minutes, and then seeing Jack Wilson's scared face when the woman rushed him at the table.

b) Closing the dining room section of the Oil City Burger King

c) Seeing a skullet, 6 mullets, and one utterance of "see yinz later"

The totals for the evening:

John Wehner - 5 photo cards; 2/2 cards
Zach Duke - 4 photo cards; 8/8 cards; 8/8 cards
Jack Wilson - 1 photo cards; 8/8 cards; 8/8 cards
Nyjer Morgan - 11 photo cards; 1/1 cards
Jeff Andrews - 4 photo cards

Totals: 25 photo cards, 35 cards
Overall: 60 autographs

It was all downhill for me after the BK Lounge.
  • My ATM/debit card disappeared sometime between then and this morning when I opened my wallet for my work ID.
  • The wife got sick last night, stayed home from work, and left me with no sleep last night.
  • The shower ran out of hot water this morning right after washing the hair.
  • With the wife at home, I couldn't take the HOV lane into "dahn-tahn" so I was a half-hour late for work.
  • I twisted my left ankle on a patch of black ice while walking over the Warhol Bridge on my way to work (the wife usually drops me off on the other side of the bridge when it's cold out).
  • Being that yesterday was a holiday, I have two days-worth of completely screwed up accounts to process today instead of the usual one day's-worth.
  • The battery in my phone is about to die, so if the wife needs me to come home for anything/drive her to the doctor/call 911, I'm up sh*t-creek.

....and it's only 7 minutes after noon.

Ugh.

That does suck.

1) Did you check your pockets
2) Get the wife some OJ and nyquil
3) Shower faster
4) Elevate the ankle
5) Tell people to chill out about the accounts
6) Tell the wife to e-mail you or call you at work

JUST THINK ONLY 3 MORE DAYS TIL PIRATESFEST!!!

Bad pun, LOL.

Very nice totals, puts what I got at TigerFest to shame IMO.

All in all it was a good experience, but IMO there were a lot of things the Pirates could have done to make it better for fans. The first of which is to insitute a kids only line. I am okay standing in line for 3.5 hours to get Dave Parker, Bill Madlock and Nyjer Morgan, but a four year old has a pretty difficult time.

Bree got some lovely shots of you in the autograph line. The "thumbs-up" photo is beautiful. Did you know your mom was participating as well?
