The Mudman
Hi everyone. I tripped onto this site while googling for Instructs rosters. If anyone here hangs around Tigertown, Winter Haven or the many minor league parks in Michigan and Ohio then you may know me.
I started collecting in 1961 at age 5. With my addictive personality this hobby definately suits me. I generally stay away from getting cards signed focusing on balls and game used bats. Last March Buddy Carlyle signed the 10,000th single signed ball in my collection...that is not a typo. I just got back to Ohio after the closure of the Florida State and Gulf Coast Leagues and after helping myself to a few Chain-O-Lakes souvineers. October 4th I am headed back to Florida for a whirlwind circle of the state to see the majority of the Instructional League teams and then west for the last month of the Arizona Fall League.

Yes. I was dubbed with the nickname Mudman many years ago in Lakeland because of the Hens. I had a streak of 503 consecutive home games attended broken when my son came home from Iraq. If you see the book Mud Hen Memories, I am the author.

Welcome. That is a pretty impressive collection of signed baseballs you have there.

I have that book. Brought back a lot of good memories of times not long ago. I hit about a dozen games a year back in 93-96. Saw some bad teams, but the Hens were always good signers, except for Duane Singleton. I remember you mentioned his bad attitude in the book.
