I think I speak for a lot of the members on this board when I say that we need some kind of age verification. I don't know how the best way to do this is or who should handle it but I think everyone should be able to see how old everyone else is so they don't just send $500 worth of cards to any 13 year old that paid $5 to be on the board. I would suggest one of the moderators take on this task. I just think we all owe a larger degree of accountability to those we deal with on this board just for everyones' comfort, confidence, and knowledge.

I ask other members of the board to back me up on this. Younger people, this is not an attack on you. We have some reliable younger traders on this board and you guys can and have the ability to prove yourselves through feedback.

I also think it would help communication to know whether you're talking to a child or someone old enough to be your parent... or grandparent haha

Short of an outside service that does age verification, which I am not sure how that would work with minors, unless they use SSN, the best way I can think of is to have another member vouch for at least your approximate age. I don't think we have to be all that specific, but maybe under 18 and over 18 or maybe under 21 or over 21. I could vouch for probably around 7-8 members off hand.

There are some good kids out there but there are also a lot of really irresponsible ones. I just think it would be better to know more about each other and be dealing with a person we know stuff about, not just be dealing with a screenname. To list people as references would be nice as well.

I'm under 18 (16 for those counting), and I am sure a few people can vouch for me that I am more than trustworthy. I don't know about you, but it is kind of easy to see who you can and cannot trust, if someone is taking 50/50's for Sammy Sosa, and his story changes from "Might see him" to "Going to his house" real quick, that sets off a little birdie in my head not to interfere. He and I had a great transaction, but his 50/50's were a little in over his head.
