Probably fake then. Who has 2 uncerted Puckett cards lying around, and are willing to sell them for $30 each?

Ask for a scan of the second.

Puckett was not a very hard signer so having two to sell isn't unbelievable by any stretch. And $30 (although the price you stated was actually closer to $40) is not unreasonable for Puckett, on a baseball card, in black sharpie. If it were a OMLB or blue sharpie HOF plaque, the price would be considerably higher.

Sounds like what is happening here is a typical forger starting something at a low price taking a picture of the real item and hitting all the back up bidders with second chance offers so that way they can sell there forgeries without actually listing them.
