Putting cards together

What is the most comphensive way of putting cards together for the teams you are anticipating on seeing next year for spring training and the regular season [any level].

Where do you buy singles?
Do you buy boxes?
Do you stock up on minor league sets?
Other sources [no 50/50s].

i usually buy singles from beckett. but i like to wait until jan to buy. that way you get to see all of the changes the teams have made by then.
