2008 Bowman Chrome...man it sucks

Topps just doesn't seem to care any more. They know they are the only guys making cards of minor leaguers in big league uni's, so as the only game in town, their quality control/player selection seems to be at an all-time low.

I didn't go through it thoroughly yet, but right off the bat:

1) Zach Britton's card has the wrong fascimile auto
2) Hector Correa, same as Britton
3) Danny Brezeale (Braves) released out of ST
4) Larry Williams (Braves) released out of ST
5) Zach Jevne (Orioles) released out of ST

So tired of having to send cards out to the Frontier League so I can get a brand new "prospect" card signed. Topps is a joke.

They mess up the fascimile auto on a lot of the cards lately. I have had so many players tell me this year, thats not my signature.

If I was a big wig at Topps, I would set up my product line like this next year:

Bowman Draft Picks- Players from the 2009 Draft and Short Season players release date would be in Oct.

I dont care if it they came from the 1st round or the 31st round. No vets or
2nd year cards.

Just a 200 card set of 2008 draft picks and short season players. No Vets

2009 Bowman - a 600 card base set featuring vets that you normally dont see in Topps any more. Triple player cards, umpires, bullpen peeps, and people traded during the offseason in their new uniform. This is for the traditional set builder and would offer something to people that miss Topps Total. Prospects would only be AAA players that bounce back and forth between the majors. Released in early March.

No Top prospects

2009 Bowman Chrome- 100 card Top propect set based on BA's top 100 prospect list with 100 players that made their debut during the 2009 season . Fire your scouts. Released in August

2009 Topps would basically be your basic MLB roster of star players, All Star Cards, Award Winners, Managers, Fans of the game, World Series highlights from the 2008 season. It comes out in January.

Mitch Hilligoss and Mike Dunn both confirmed that they have the wrong sigs. They said we should do the proofing.

Topps/Bowman just sucks, period. What, they cant find a 10 year old kid to proof the cards in exchange for some old gum from the 88 Topps warehouse?

<<sidenote...man, wasnt that gum good? Seriously. Who didnt sit outside their local 7-11 and stuff 18 pieces in their mouth at once while seeing how many Mike Gallego's you got. Right now there are a bunch of kids on this board that are 16 wondering what the heck I am talking about>>

Justin Turner also said that the facsimile auto on his card was not his.

That gum was brutal but the taste is one you will never forget. I am sure kids today cant believe that they actually used to put bubble gum in baseball card packs....I used to always hate it when my Don Mattingly and Wade Boggs cards would have gum stain on the back of the card.

I've noticed. I'm guessing they have a bad way of naming the autographs in their files. If two guys have names that are even remotely similar, they're bound to end up with the wrong signature on their card.

Anyione notice that the word "league" was misspelled on the front of the Hobby packs, and the odds on the back seemed to be for a completely different product? I didn't get a #ed prospect every other pack (1:2)...

and to top it all off, I didn't get my guaranteed auto in the box that was written on 45 different places taht I woudl get a guaranteed auto...
