Well I just got him on an OMLB ss here in Mississippi. He was shagging fly balls in the outfield with his teammates (in full uniform) even though he is on the DL. He was very pleasant and talked with me about his injury, saying right now he can't even pick up a bat. He struck me as a very good kid and was one of the first ones on the field to shag flies and one of the first back onto the field before the game. He's only 21 and he is still having a fairly good season so far. Lets not forget he was voted to the SL allstar team. He's stolen 17 bases, hit 12 hrs and played good defense and the batting avg. is coming around also. Jeff Francouer was having an even worse season when he was first in AA and when he got called up he tore up the league for the rest of the year. I once heard that some guys actually hit better as they move up the minor leagues. Something about seeing a better quality of pitches and more strikes. So long story short, don't give up on him yet. Remember Roy Halladay struggled and had to be sent back to A ball and now look at him. Talent almost always rises to the occasion.
