on a side note about 5 years ago me and "BATS" (an occasional TPA poster) went to try and track down steve d. at his house in charlotte....went, some random old dude answered and said steve wasnt their (said he was a golf pro and worked all the time at some local course) wouldnt give us the course name though so my dreams of hitting him up at the 9th tee box were thrwarted

Does anyone have the addy for former minor league pitcher Dave Zancanaro? He pitched for the A's, Cubs, and I believe the cardinals organizations.

WOW! I have talked to Scott and received many e-mails from him. I never knew he played until I was rereading some of the old posts.

Back onto the topic

Graveline - Do you ever call a player to find out if it's the right person? Would this be acceptable to the player?

in the past i used to do this exclusivly...over the 50 or so players i talked to only 1 ever gave me a hard time about it

now i just send a letter asking if its the ex-player and if its ok to send cards....i include a postcard, if that come back, out go the cards

So do you just say something like "Are you the Ken Griffey, Jr. that played for the Mariners and Reds?" And if they say yes, "Is it okay if I send some cards for you to sign?"

And another question.

Any players say they would sign and didn't?

Does anyone know an address or the whereabouts of Ron Wright from the 1995 Best set? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wiggins I believe is still bouncing around minor league ball (I think back in the Yankees org.). Vierra has been with the Newark Bears the past two seasons. Ortega has an address in Harvey's list but doesn't seem to answer auto requests.
